Parrom to Visit 5 Schools; RU Waiting on Beatty

Kevin Parrom has set his list of visits and he will be busy the next several weekends.

“I am at [the] airport on my way to Pitt,” Parrom wrote Sunday morning in a text. “Next weekend I go to Arizona. And the weekend after that I go to Va. Tech.”

He will also take unofficial visits from his South Kent (Conn.) school to Providence and Rhode Island later this week.

“Sometime this week, most likely on Thursday,” he wrote.

A 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward ranked No. 25 at his position in the Class of 2009, Parrom recently got his release from Xavier.

He is also considering Xavier but will not take another official visit there.

Former Xavier head coach Sean Miller and assistant Book Richardson are now at Arizona, which could draw Parrom to the West Coast.

RU WAITING ON BEATTY

James Beatty, a 6-2 floor general from Miami Dade College, has been quiet since visiting Rutgers in late March.

Baylor, DePaul, Memphis and St. John’s have also reportedly been in the mix, but Beatty has not visited any of those schools in recent weeks.

“I’m probably going to take my time. I know it’s probably killing Rutgers and I feel bad because it’s taking so long,” Beatty told the Courier News in March.

Miami Dade coach Matt Eisele did not return a message seeking comment.

  • Zags do you think The Friars have a legit shot at Parrom or are they just a plan C, or D ?

    Thanks Friar Fanatic

  • I don’t think they’re his top priority, I think he’ll likely end up at Arizona, Xavier or somewhere else.

But I know Pat Skerry is working very hard.

  • Thanks, I also heard sightings of a highly regarded big man(over 7ft) on the Providence campus this week who is possibly Senegalese, or African. Any idea who this much needed true big man may be ? According to insiders the staff is keeping a tight lip on the visit. Also I’m hearing we are a favorite to land Florida transfer Allan Chaney, is this true ? Do you think he has star potential or is he more of a problem dump that probably won’t pan out ?

    Thanks, Friar Fanatic
