St. Patrick (20-3), No. 8 in the new Prep Nation.com poll, is still the prohibitive favorite to win the New Jersey Tournament of Champions despite Saturday night’s 73-64 loss to Oak Hill at the Primetime Shootout.
“We can still win the state, we can win our fifth T of C so that’s always a great reason to be in the state association for any school,” Celtics coach Kevin Boyle said after the loss. “We have something huge to play for in the state of New Jersey if you win with St. Anthony and Paterson Catholic and schools like that. It’s a great accomplishment and it pretty much guarantees putting you in the Top 10 in America.
“Obviously we all want to be the best, but that’s not always going to happen. WE still have a chance to be the best in New Jersey, which says a lot.”
