Nick Calathes is averaging 15.7 ppg for Florida
NEW YORK — When the 2008 O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic tips off Monday in Kansas City, Mo., four of the last six national champions will be on display.
Syracuse, the 2003 NCAA champion, meets No. 18 Florida (’06, ’07) at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by No. 24 Kansas, the defending national champion, against Washington at 10. The winners of the semifinals will collide on Tuesday.
“We’re obviously tremendously proud to be in this tournament representing our school and the conference,” Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said. “It’s a great tournament. Four great teams coming to Kansas City and we’re looking forward to it.”
