Durand Scott Update

Durand Scott was invited to attend UConn’s season opener Friday night against Western Carolina, but he did not make the trip.

The 6-foot-4 Scott out of Rice High School is still considering Pitt, along with UConn and Miami, according to Dwayne Mitchell, Scott’s coach with the Gauchos.

“Everybody is still in,” MItchell said.

Mitchell said Scott expected to make an announcement next week.

Ashcraf Yacoubou, a 6-4 sophomore shooting guard from Long Island Lutheran who attended UConn’s First Night celebration Oct. 17, will be at the game.

“I know Ashcraf is going,” said Torrel Harris. Torrel is the father Tobias and Tyler Harris, teammates of Yacoubou who will not attend the game.
