Konchalski on Cheek, Strickland and Jackson; Carolina Has Best Recruiting Class for ’09

As part of SNY’s extensive NCAA early signing period coverage, we will unveil over the next few days a five-part interview with nationally respected recruiting expert Tom Konchalski of the HSBI Report. In this piece that we filmed last week at the SNY studio in Manhattan, Tom gives his impressions of three of the top local players from the Class of 2009: uncommitted wing Dominic Cheek of St. Anthony, who is considering Kansas, Memphis, Villanova, Pittsburgh and Rutgers and will likely sign in the spring; North Carolina-bound guard Dexter Strickland of St. Patrick of Elizabeth, N.J.; and Rice commit Tamir Jackson of St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark.

Stay tuned for more….

  • Thanks for conducting the interview and to Mr. Konchalski for agreeing to it. As you know, although he isn’t as notable as Dave Telep or even Jerry Meyer to the general public, amongst the cognescenti of college basketball, his words hold as much value as anyone. He is always gracious, humble, informed, and articulate.

I look forward to the future installments. Thanks for tapping into this local treasure.
