Having finished his in-home visits with college coaches, Dominic Cheek will now figure out his five officials.

“We’re going to sit down and write things down and decide what schools he wants to visit,” St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley said. “And then he’ll start making his visits.”

Cheek had an in-home on Tuesday night with Pitt head coach Jamie Dixon and assistant Brandin Knight.

Tobias Harris will be very busy for the next few weekends.

The 6-foot-8 junior combo forward from Long Island Lutheran will visit West Virginia this weekend. After that he goes to Maryland for Midnight Madness Oct. 17, Georgetown (Oct. 18), Marquette for Midnight Madness (Oct 24 & 25), Georgia Tech (Nov. 1) and Georgia (Nov. 2).

The recruitment of Arsalan Kazemi is heating up to a fevered pitch.

Kazemi, a skilled 6-foot-7 forward originally from Iran now at The Patterson (N.C.) School, and his adviser, Anthony Ibrahim, had an in-home visit Tuesday night with Rice head coach Ben Braun and Ibrahim said it went very well.

“It was great,” Ibrahim said by phone. “We had the visit. It went very good. They’re definitely in the mix, along with the other two (Seton Hall and Maryland).”

Still, coaches from St. John’s, Maryland, Missouri and Cincinnati have also been in this week, and Seton Hall head coach Bobby Gonzalez and coaches from Oklahoma State and Western Kentucky are coming in tomorrow (Thursday).

St. Benedict’s Prep guard Tamir Jackson has chosen a school — again.

“I committed to Rice,” he said. “It’s a great academic school. I get the chance to play right away, play 30 minutes or more as a freshman.

“They said I’m going to come in there and play the one most of the time, and also play off guard.”

Jackson, a native of Paterson, N.J., chose Rice over Harvard, Penn, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. He had previously verballed to UAB in July, but changed his mind because he felt the staff had not remained in touch with him.

Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano told reporters Tuesday that “there’s a chance” sophomore tailback Kordell Young could miss the remainder of the season with a left knee injury.

“He seems to be having setbacks here and there,” Schiano said, according to Keith Sargeant of the Home News Tribune.

Asked if there was a chance Young could sit out the rest of the season, the coach told reporters: “There’s a chance anything can happen, right?” Schiano said. Then he added, “”Yeah. Yeah, there’s a chance.”

Lance Stephenson is planning visits to Kansas and Memphis, according to Hassani Stewart, Stephenson’s coach with the Raising Champions AAU team.

“We don’t have anything concrete,” Stewart said by phone. “We’re planning on visiting Memphis and Kansas. We’re looking at Oct. 15 or 17 for Kansas. I have to talk to (head coach) Bill Self and (assistant) Joe Dooley. Memphis we’re definitely not sure. We’re supposed to go down for their Midnight Madness (Oct. 17).

“What’s throwing us off is this iS8 stuff.”

The iS8 playoffs begin Oct. 7.

Kansas is also hosting its “Late Night in the Phog” event Oct. 17, and Dominic Cheek of St. Anthony of Jersey City may well attend.

Stewart said Stephenson also considered visiting USC for the Ohio State football game on Sept. 13 but “decided not to go on the trip.”
