It’s time for Seton Hall to give up on the Michael Glover situation and give his scholarship to someone who can use it. Too bad because Glover would have been, by all accounts, an impact player for the Pirates.

As things stand, they have 8 eligible players pending the NCAA Clearinghouse decision on Melvyn Oliver’s eligibility, seven when Robert “Stix” Mitchell serves his suspension in Puerto Rico.

Here’s the Associated Press story on Glover’s case:

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the NCAA and Big East Conference filed by a former Seton Hall basketball recruit who was declared ineligible.

Tevin Baskin was slated to visit UMass last weekend and Providence this weekend, but now he says he’s “wide open” and “re-opening” his recruitment.

“I decided to open back up my recruitment,” said the 6-foot-7 senior forward from Trinity (Conn.) Catholic. “I may end up commiting to a school in April if something doesn’t grab my attention during the season.”

Baskin said he decided to open things up again (even though he hadn’t committed) after speaking last week with his parents.

Deniz Kilicli, a 6-foot-9, 250-pound power forward from Beckley (WV) Mountain State, has committed to West Virginia.

“He actually committed on Saturday,” Mountain State coach Rob Fulford said in a phone interview. “West Virginia got a Top 10 player in this one. I think his decision came down to Bob Huggins. He wanted to play for a coach that was going to challenge him and had a track reord of putting post players in the NBA.”

A native of Turkey, Kilicli excelled at the adidas Nations event in Dallas in August, and then received offers from Connecticut, Kentucky, LSU, N.C. State, Oklahoma and UCLA, according to Rivals.
