Despite messageboard rumors to the contrary, St. Anthony senior Dominic Cheek did not commit to Kansas during his visit.
“No, I didn’t,” the 6-foot-5 Cheek said by text message Saturday morning.
Cheek is in Lawrence on an official visit. He attended “Late Night in the Phog” Friday night and scrimmaged with the team Saturday afternoon.
“He’s having a good time, but I didn’t hear anything about a commitment,” St. Anthony associate head coach Ben Gamble said Saturday by phone.
Cheek made the visit alone, without family members or coaches, as the rumors suggest. He is slated to visit Villanova next weekend (Oct. 24) and Pitt the weekend after (Oct. 31). He may also visit Memphis Nov. 7.
Indiana, Rutgers and Seton Hall are also in the mix.
