The is8 playoffs in New York City are having an impact on the recruiting plans of several of the city’s top seniors.
Lance Stephenson will not visit Kansas this weekend for “Late Night in the Phog” because his Juice All Stars will compete Saturday morning in the is8 semis against New Heights. The Gauchos, who feature Durand Scott of Rice, take on the Playaz seniors in the other semi. The championship game is on Sunday.
Stephenson, who dropped 26 points when Juice downed the Playaz juniors this past weekend, still plans to visit Kansas, but will not get there this weekend, when a number of other stars, including Xavier Henry and Dominic Cheek will attend.Stephenson wanted to visit Memphis, USC and UCLA as well, but no visits have yet been set as far as we know. Stephenson has stated on several occasions that he won’t announce until the spring. He previously visited St. John’s for its Midnight Madness event.
Scott did not visit UCLA last weekend as planned and instead competed with the Gauchos when they beat Princeton Day Academy at is8.
Scott is supposed to visit Tennessee this coming weekend although Gauchos coach Dwayne Mitchell said he wasn’t certain if Scott would still go as scheduled. One possible option might be for Scott to visit Tennessee before the weekend. He will visit Miami the following weekend (Oct. 24) and has already taken officials to UConn and Pitt.

Passing up a weekend in Westwood with a top 5 program for a relatively meaningless AAU game against not exactly vaunted Princeton Day School in a middle school gym in Queens…perhaps he just saw the writing (a young, loaded UCLA backcourt) on the wall

Adam–
What about the rule that you have to record an sat/act test score before “taking” an official visit?
Did they change that rule in the past few years?
Great blog, thanks for the updates.

No, that is still a rule. Who are you thinking of?
