Teeng Akol to Oklahoma State?

Teeng Akol, a 7-foot, 240-pound power forward who most recently played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., will visit Nebraska and Oklahoma State this week and could decide by next week.

His advisor, Fatah Muraisi, said he will “most likely (choose) Oklahoma State.”

“Teeng’s going to visit Nebraska and Oklahoma State; he’s looking at them heavily,” Muraisi said. “Next weekend he’s going to Oklahoma State and he may try to see Nebraska before then. He’s really loving Oklahoma State.

“(Nebraska’s) Doc Sadler is a great coach and (Oklahoma State’s) Travis (Ford) is a great coach. He’s gonna look at both schools and then decide by next Monday.”

Akol, a native of the Sudan who also played at Our Savior New American on Long Island, can play multiple frontcourt positions. He originally committed to South Florida, but recently obtained his release.

“It didn’t work out there,” Muraisi said. “Sometimes you think it’s the girl you want to marry and then it’s some other girl. Kids are kids. There’s no hard feelings with anybody.”
