Top 40 Recruiting Classes

Rosario_rutgersVan Coleman of CSTV has released his “Class of 2008 Recruiting Classes” and it features many schools with incoming players from New York and New Jersey. What’s also interesting is that he lists Rutgers under the “Near Misses” category — along with Syracuse of the Big East — but with only 3 recruits. We wonder where Rutgers will place in other rankings once St. Benedict’s big man Greg Echenique is included in a class that also includes McDonald’s All-American Mike Rosario of St. Anthony, wing Pat Jackson of Brooklyn Boys & Girls; and big man Christian Morris of South Kent (Conn.).

Seton Hall is listed under the “Best of the Rest” category after landing a class that includes Paterson Catholic point guard Jordan Theodore; Melvyn “Big Mel” Oliver of Mississippi Elite Christian Academy; and Jamel Jackson of Manhattan TCI.
