Sutton Visiting Villanova

SuttonMaurice Sutton, the 6-11 big man out of Largo (Md.) High, will visit Villanova Wednesday, fresh off visiting Indiana last weekend.

Sutton is down to Indiana, Kentucky, Villanova and Seton Hall, according to Largo coach Lewis Howard.

Sutton told Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier-Journal that he had a “great time” in Indiana while playing for the Indiana Elite LNO team that includes Evan Gordon, brother of former IU star Eric Gordon

“It’s nice to be here,” he said. “It’s a nice little college town. You see what you get. I love this area and the fans and I love coach (Tom) Crean. As soon as you walk into (Assembly Hall), those five banners say it all.”

Sutton, originally from Newark, is ranked No. 30 among centers in the Class of 2008 and averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and 9 blocks per game while leading Largo to the state 3A championship. In one game earlier this year against Crossland, Sutton had 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks.
