Jarrett Mann Update

Jarrett_mannSeton Hall is one of several schools interested in 6-6, 210-pound small forward Jarrett Mann of Blair Academy.

Mann committed to Stanford but is now waiting to see whom the school hires as its new coach to replace the departed Trent Johnson. Former Knicks coach Larry Brown reportedly turned the job down.

“They’re waiting to see,” Blair coach Joe Mantegna said of Mann and his family and advisers. “(Stanford) is hopefully going to have soembody hired this weekend. They’re going to wait to see whos’ hired and then go from there.”

Seton Hall, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Penn State are among those interested in Mann.

“Several schools contacted me,” Mann said. “I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do now. I’m just waiting for the new coach to see if I’m going to de-commit or get out of my Letter (of Intent).”

Mann chose Stanford over Virginia Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest and Penn State, among others.

“I’m looking everywhere right now, I’m going to keep it open,” Mann said.

“(Stanford) has allowed people to reach out to contact him and me and his AAU guys,” Mantegna said. “It’s hard for anybody to really offer. Hopefully somebody’s going to get hired at Stanford and Jarrett’s just going to go.”
